Private sector workers in the UAE will have a paid official holiday on June 6th, Thursday, to observe the anniversary of Isra Wal Miraj, official news agency WAM reported.
A circular issued by Saqr Ghobash, UAE's Minister of Labour stated that the holiday will be applicable to all the companies and enterprises in the country.
The resolution has been issued according to the provisions of article 74 of the Federal Law No. 8 of 1980, concerning the regulation of labour relations and its amendments, said the WAM report.
Eid holidays for employees of federal authorities will begin from July 16 while private sector workers will receive two days off
All public sector departments will remain closed from December 2 to December 7 as per directives by the UAE president.
Public sector workers will be off from Oct 3-6, while private sector employees will receive holidays from Oct 3-5.
Workers who have a one-day weekend will get Saturday, Nov 30 off, while those with a two-day weekend get a holiday on Sunday, Dec 1.
