UAE Announces June 6 Private Sector Holiday

The UAE's ministry of Labour issued a circular confirming the holiday to mark Isra Wal Miraj.

Private sector workers in the UAE will have a paid official holiday on June 6th, Thursday, to observe the anniversary of Isra Wal Miraj, official news agency WAM reported.

A circular issued by Saqr Ghobash, UAE's Minister of Labour stated that the holiday will be applicable to all the companies and enterprises in the country.

The resolution has been issued according to the provisions of article 74 of the Federal Law No. 8 of 1980, concerning the regulation of labour relations and its amendments, said the WAM report.
