Dubai-based Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate has partnered with Laservision Mega Media to create a ‘mega media show’ at Dubai Festival City Mall.

Building work is already underway for the light, music and water show on the mall’s waterfront and is expected to be finished by late 2016.

The project, which is expected to be similar to other Dubai attractions such as the ‘dancing fountain’ show at Dubai Mall, comes as part of a major redevelopment scheme at the mall.

Once complete, the mall will offer 400 shops, 75 eateries, a 12-screen Novo Cinemas complex and parking for 6,500 cars.

Al-Futtaim Group Real Estate director Chris O’Donnell said: “We are bringing to Dubai a first-to-market, must-see, world class waterfront experience that will excite and engage our visitors.

“Our current expansion firmly positions Dubai Festival City Mall amongst the Emirate’s top shopping and leisure destinations with an additional 27,000sqm in retail space to accommodate key new anchors, more diverse retail brands and over 75 food and beverage outlets. Once our expansion programme is complete we will have created a shopping, dining and entertainment Creek-side destination like no other.”

Laservision has delivered globally renowned spectaculars such as Hong Kong’s ‘A Symphony of Lights’—awarded the ‘World’s Largest Permanent Light and Sound Show’ by Guinness World Records – and Southeast Asia’s largest light and water show, ‘Wonder Full’ at Marina Bay in Singapore.
